JUST IN: £100million Star Has Agreed Terms To Join Manchester United



Spanish Goalkeeper has agreed to sign a five-year deal at Manchester United amidst interest from Spanish club Real Madrid.

It is reported that United are confident that De Gea would put pen to paper after having a verbal agreement that he would sign a long-term contract.


This is in a bid to scare Madrid who are set to offer a whopping £100million for the 27-year-old shot-stopper. De Gea widely regarded as the best goalkeeper in the world had an impressive season winning the Premier League Golden Glove award.

These performances have renewed interest from the Los Blancos for the player. Although Madrid Chiefs have privately accepted that it would take a world record bid to lure the former Atletico Madrid star to the Bernabeu, as reports.

United have perhaps the strongest depth in the goalkeeper position. Sergio Romero is a capable backup with Mourinho recently labeling the 31-year-old as the best backup keeper in the world. Also, the club has high prospects for Portuguese prodigy Joel Perreira and recently committed youngster Dean Henderson to a long-term deal.

However Manchester United are wary of a backlash from their fans for the 27-year-old if he is sold to Madrid. De Gea is currently with the Spanish squad and featured in the thrilling 3-3 draw against Portugal.

De Gea is one of the top earners in Manchester United with the player reported to be earning £200,000 a week and could earn as much as £350k-a-week with this new deal.
