Chelsea are condemned to be busy in the final two days of this transfer window and this follows from the decision of Thibaut Courtois to call time on his spell with us.
Courtois reportedly asked Maurizio Sarri to allow him leave and he has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid. Chelsea’s boss also revealed that he will not stand in the way of an unhappy player, leaving the Blues now scampering for a replacement for the Belgian shot-stopper.
According to emerging reports, Chelsea have moved to activate the release clause of long term transfer target Jan Oblak.
Oblak joined Atletico Madrid from Benfica in the summer of 2014 and he has established himself as one of the finest shot-stoppers in the La Liga.
The 25-year-old Slovenian has been on the radar of Chelsea since the last summer and it appears as though he will end up lacing his boots and wearing the Gloves of the West London club this term.
The player has a €100M release clause and according to Mundo Deportivo, the Blues are ready to trigger the same clause to land the star and they have until tomorrow to do so.
Courtois arrived London on Monday ahead of the season and he has refused to training with the side.
